Bagualing district in Shenzhen is transforming from a traditional industrial area into a service-based district. Various regeneration projects around the site are also in progress.
The tower has a footprint of 35m x 35m with an area of 1200m² per floor. With the tower maximizing the width of the site within the setback lines, the east / west facing units are minimized. The tower is placed at the north side of the side, minimizing the disturbance of tower core and structure to the retail podium, allow flexibility for podium arrangement. Combining with the refugee floors, sky gardens are introduced in the tower and generating a three-dimensional greenery in the design. Unitized curtain wall façade system unified the elevation image, also further emphasize the void of sky gardens in the tower.
The retail in podium is targeting the younger generation with lifestyle. By introducing generous outdoor area around the retail space, interaction between visitors is enhanced. At the entrance plaza on the first floor, a large-scale outdoor staircase encourages the visitors to explore the upper floors. Roof garden is introduced on the third floor, allows greenery infiltrating into retail space.
